What is a screening test?

A screening test is a brief self-report questionnaire that helps identify whether someone might benefit from a full clinical evaluation. These are not diagnostic tools. Results generally indicate either low/no indication or possible/elevated indication that further assessment may be helpful.

Most screeners are well-established instruments used in clinical research and practice. A few marked with an asterisk are newer tools still in development that have not yet been formally validated through published peer-reviewed studies.
